TC Russell, short for Thornton Chandler Russell
Family Background:
TC was very close to his father, Reggie. Reggie had big dreams for TC's tennis career. He expected TC to make it all the way to the top. But when an accident left TC with a knee injury, TC could no longer play tennis. Reggie died of a broken heart after his dreams for TC were shattered.
Childhood Dream:
Like his dad, TC had high hopes for his own tennis career. He knew he was good and aspired to make it to the level of his hero, Arthur Ashe. TC wanted to show the world what he could do.
Spouse:
TC is married to Dr. Eve Russell. They met when TC showed up with a hand injury in the emergency room where Eve was working. Eve treated his wounds. Eve and TC had both been through a lot of painful times in their lives and were able to recognize a level of understanding in each other. They soon fell in love. But even as they grew closer, neither told the other about their pasts-it was as if both chose to leave that part of their lives behind them.
Children:
TC has two daughters-Whitney and Simone. Whitney is a great tennis player, and TC has big dreams for her-much like TC's father had for him. TC wants Whitney to have the great career that he was denied...and he has pushed her towards that for her whole life.
Occupation:
TC is the athletic coach at Harmony High. He is well liked and respected by all the students.
Friends:
Sam and Grace Bennett are TC and Eve's best friends. Sam and TC have been best friends for years. The two grew up together in Harmony. TC also counts Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, and Hank Bennett as friends.
Enemies:
TC has just one enemy: Julian Crane. TC has always believed that Julian was behind the accident that ended TC's tennis career. The day after the accident occurred, TC was scheduled for an important rematch against Julian. TC had beaten Julian before, and a furious Julian was determined not to let that happen again. TC believed that Julian purposely caused the accident, so that TC wouldn't be able to play against him. Since that day, TC has hated Julian with every fiber of his being. He vowed that if he ever got proof that Julian was behind the accident that he would kill him. The night of Julian's murder, TC found a receipt in the Crane mansion from an auto body shop-it was dated the day after TC's accident. TC flew into a rage and swore Julian would pay for what he'd done.
Best Quality:
TC is a family man who would do anything and everything for his family. He would never let anything happen to his wife or daughters.
Worst Quality:
TC has an explosive temper that is infamous in Harmony. His temper especially flares when he feels his family is being threatened. For example, on prom night TC saw Julian touching Eve. He flew into a rage and nearly killed Julian right then and there. In fact, Julian has often been a victim of TC's fierce temper. TC has gone after Julian on many occasions.
In His Spare Time:
TC enjoys shooting hoops with Sam, even though his knee tends to act up. He also enjoys evenings out at the Lobster Shack with Sam and Grace. But most of all, he likes staying in and sharing a quiet evening with Eve.
Biggest Fear:
That he will be powerless to protect Eve, Whitney, or Simone from any kind of harm.
Biggest Regret:
Not telling Eve about the car accident that caused his knee injury when he first met her. He regrets having kept that a secret from her until recently.
If He Had One Wish:
His daughters would grow up to be just like his wife.
Greatest Achievement:
Marrying a woman he believes to be perfect in every way. TC doesn't know about Eve's sordid past, including her affair with Julian Crane, which led to a baby who supposedly died at birth. TC puts Eve on a pedestal and thinks she always followed a moral, pristine path. He is proud that a woman like that could love him and want to spend the rest of her life with him.
Something You'd Be Surprised To Know About Him:
TC has a shed in the backyard that he doesn't allow anyone into...not even his wife or daughters.
