Born and raised in Los Angeles, Christopher Jorgens makes his television acting debut in the tNBC extreme series “Skate” (Saturdays, 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET/9:30-10:00 a.m. PT), bringing a background in independent films and talents for skating, surfing, snowboarding and motocross.
Familiar to extreme sports, Jorgens’ role as 17-year-old Josh Raden comes naturally. “Josh and I share a similar dream,” said Jorgens. “We both like getting a rush, even though many people don’t see extreme sports as a real sport. It’s hard to follow something that you really love to do when people say you shouldn’t. My advice would be to follow your dreams and do whatever makes you happy. ”
Jorgens first pursued his love for acting as a film and English double major at Santa Monica College. After writing for and appearing in several independent films and taking acting courses with manager/acting coach Patch Cutler, Jorgens went on to audition for his first role and landed the role of Josh. “After the second callback, I thought that if I was going to be doing anything, this was going to be it,” says a smiling Jorgens. “I knew I could do it from the very beginning. I’m hoping to bring some fun and an artistic view into the show.”
When not acting, Jorgens enjoys spending time surfing, skating, snowboarding, motocrossing, and hanging out with friends and family. “My goal in life is just to be happy,” Jorgens said. “I don’t care about money. My friends, family, surfing, skating, snowboarding and motocross are what makes me feel good. As long as I have all of that, I will be happy.”
Jorgens still lives in Los Angeles with his mother, father and younger sister. His birthday is October 8.
