“All About Us,” is a new comedy series from Executive Producer Peter Engel (“City Guys,” “Saved By The Bell”) that focuses on the development of four teenage girls who live and attend high school in Chicago. The girls come from very different family backgrounds, and have different strengths, but share a bond of friendship. Their different talents, perspectives, and family experiences become the platform for illustrating alternative approaches to understanding and solving problems.
Alecia Alcott, played by 18 year-old Island Def Jam/MCA recording artist Alecia Elliott, finds herself transplanted to Chicago from a little town in Alabama all because her father took a new job. She's had to leave everything she knows and trusts, and is suddenly thrown into a huge city and a huge high school and becomes fast friends with three other girls:
Niki Merrick (Marieh Delfino) is the clothes-obsessed, boy-crazed, poor little rich girl with a heart of gold. Sierra Jennings (Crystal Grant) is an impassioned activist, who always keeps the girls in behavioral check. Cristina Castelli (Alicia Lagano) is the athlete, and a tough-talking girl who is very close to her Italian family.
Also carried throughout the series is Alecia's commitment to becoming a certifiable singer and in selected episodes she sings the music that she writes.
The four girls navigate their typical and not-so-typical teenage dilemmas on a weekly basis: boys, parents, health, social causes, what to get from the vending machine. Their commitment to each other and their individual friendships are true and strong. Their moments of hilarity always result in moments of truth as they experience what it means to be a teenager, what it means to be a girl, and what it means to help each other realize who they really are...and who they are becoming.
“All About Us” was created by Peter Engel and is produced by Peter Engel Productions in association with NBC Enterprises.
