MARK VACHON
Mark Vachon was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of NBC in January 2002. He is responsible for overseeing NBC's financial planning and operations and plays a key role in the company's strategic business initiatives. He reports directly to Bob Wright, NBC's chairman and chief executive officer.
Vachon came to NBC from General Electric's corporate offices, where he had served as the vice president of investor communications since April 1998. He was appointed a GE company officer in July 1999.
Vachon has more than twenty years of experience with GE, including a brief tenure as GE Plastics' global quality leader, several years as director of finance at GE Plastics Europe, and five years with GE Appliances, where he held a number of positions, including manager of international finance and general manager of retail sales and market development. He also traveled on GE's corporate audit staff for five years, advancing to executive audit manager.
Vachon began his GE career in the GE Financial Management Program after graduating from Northeastern University in Boston with a bachelor of science degree in finance.
He lives in Connecticut with his wife, Karen, and their two children, Lauren and Philip.
