PATRICK MCNAMEE
Patrick McNamee was named senior vice president and CIO of NBC Information Technology, and NBC’s chief quality officer in May 2001. He is also responsible for leading NBC’s numerous e-Business initiatives. McNamee reports directly to Andrew Lack, the president and chief operating officer of NBC.
McNamee is charged with leading a broad spectrum of support services for NBC’s information management systems, including planning, design, implementation, new application development, internal communications infrastructure, technology architecture, technical services and operations. As chief quality officer, he leads NBC’s Six Sigma initiative, which is a formal system of analyzing, improving and controlling business processes.
Before joining NBC, McNamee had served as CIO, Information Technology, and e-Business Leader at General Electric’s Transportation Systems business since May 1999. He led all IT operations and e-Business programs, including digitizing the supply chain and service processes. From 1997 to 1999, he was manager of information technology for the Global Energy Products business at GE Power Systems. McNamee has been with GE since 1989, when he was first hired to lead engineering and product-marketing teams in the development of radiology image management and networking solutions for GE Medical Systems. McNamee serves as the GE University Executive for Penn State University and is an active member of the GE Elfun Society.
McNamee holds bachelor and master degrees in biomedical engineering from Marquette University. He and his wife, Joanie, live in New York City
